Keep track of what you read.
I've been keeping a reading journal since 1992. I started
off in a little paperbound diary I got on remainder.
(actually a pretty neat book in its own right, The Dahl
Diary 1992 has illustrations by Quentin Blake from the
works of Roald Dahl. There are also introductions to each
month written by Dahl discussing the joys both of the month
in question and of keeping a Diary.) Since I was using a
daily diary to keep my list, I kept it in chronological
order, and I still kind of like the sense of perspective
that ordering gives to the list. So you can see that I
read all of Steven Brust's Taltos books in the course of a
week and a half (at least those that had been written at that point),
and that it took more like a year to read all of
Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City cycle. Maybe someday
I'll add an alphabetical index, but not today.
