Library Board Report

 

Julie and Chris reported on the recent Issaquah Board Meeting. The trials and tribulations of the new library were the main topic of discussion.

The Friends have roughly $9000 in checking, plus more in the CDs.

"Mrs Katz and Tush" at the Village Theater, 7PM.

The Village Theater requires a certificate from the Library to cover the theater for this event. Chris is following up on Jeff's request of the KCLS Business Office for this certificate.

Poetry Alive

The young adult program was very successful. Future programs will probably take place in the High School, making it easier for all involved.

Story Telling Festival

August 18th

This extensive event will take place at the Bellevue Library. There will be buses to Bellevue from the outlying Libraries.

Benches

 

There will be 6 standard granite benches, featuring natural images of local flora. The Library Board is planning on the Friends to purchase a special bench.

The Board would prefer to use the Friends funds for programs that enhance the Library (and its programs), not necessarily the

Next months agenda

 

We will talk about planning our future efforts. Something like a Mission Statement, but not a real Mission Statement. Chris will work with the Library to prepare a budget of Library needs.
