Book Sale |
The book sale was the most successful to date. Total sales were $1,509.75. Grish suggested that we consider increasing the number of book sales to 4 per year. There was definite sentiment in favor of additional book sales. Bob moved that we have a book sale at the end of February, 2001. After a brief discussion, the board agreed to schedule a book sale for the first weekend in March (3-2/3-3). |

Change of Leadership |
Barbara Burr is resigning as Treasure, effective at the end of 2000. We interviewed Grish for a position on the board. Grish shared with us his background, growing up in India. He fondly remembered the role his local librarys played in his education and development. The Board offered Grish the opportunity to become our next President. Grish accepted our offer. We will schedule a vote for the January meeting. At that time, Jeff Youngstrom will replace Barbara as Treasurer. Rebecca Noll will remain as Vice-president and Bob Ockuly will continue as Secretary. |

Additional Programs sponsored by the Friends |
Grish suggested that we add some additional programs to our schedule. He suggested the reading of prominent speeches and setting up debates about issues that affect the community. Chris commented that so much energy is being devoted to moving to the new Library, that it would be better to wait until after the new Library is open. In the meantime we are open to suggestions. |
Mission Statement |
Chris suggested, "Promote and support the library as the intellectual heart of the community". |
