Close-up experiment

I bought a gadget for attaching extension lenses onto my DC290, and got some close-up filters.

I was trying to keep notes about what I was doing with each picture I took, but I lost track. Plus the images are really huge since I was using my camera's highest resolution and lowest compression.

I'm only including the picture I took with the highest magnification/shortest focal length that I took. This is with +1, +2, and +4 diopter filters all used together which should result in +7 total. The focus distance at this level is between 4.13 and 4.5 inches. It's kind of hit-or-miss getting sharp focus since the camera autofocus (and manual focus) doesn't know about distances this close, and the LCD on the camera doesn't have the resolution to allow decent focus. You pretty much have to take a picture, load it up to the computer, and tweak the setup if the quality isn't sufficient. But, it does take pretty cool pictures.
