We went to Portland, Oregon for the weekend. We were walking from our dinner site to Powell's and saw this building. I have no idea what it is, but it looked pretty cool in the evening sunlight. Too bad the camera overexposed it.

Hairy guy against the sky

The Powell's science fiction section has a support column that has accumulated the autographs of various SF luminaries over the years. You can make out some of the signatures in these two shots...

The view from the opposite side of our hotel from our room. Looking out over downtown Portland.

Sunday morning I tried to take a picture through the peep hole in the door of our room. Didn't work too well ;-) I took another one with the flash, but the reflection of the flash off the back of the door blew it out of the water. It just occurred to me that if I let it think it was using the flash, but masked it off so it didn't contribute then I might get something. I'll have to try it on the peep hole at home. It's fun having a camera with no incremental per-picture costs.
